Joyland was commissioned by Joyland Pty Ltd a large international hospitality investment firm for their product launch night.
Joyland uses the materiality of foamcore and pendant lights in a modular geometric arrangement to change the spatial qualities of the exhibition room. Each one of the modules was formed by hexagonal planar pieces that permeated across the ceiling and flowed into the vertical walls. The piece was inspired by stalactites found in natural caverns to bring environmental imagery and metaphors into the space and homify its spatial qualities.
The seeming organic arrangement on the vertical face housed succulents further perpetuating the nature symbolism. The piece was so well received that the fixture was made permanent in the exhibition office in Sydney
