Anson Li


Anson Li is a second generation Australian born Chinese artist who is currently undertaking his master’s in architecture at the University of Sydney. Since earning his bachelor’s in Architecture, Anson has worked at a number of Sydney Architecture firms including Peter Willett Associates and Alexander & Co. In 2018, Anson was a part of a team shortlisted for the Australian Urban Design Awards.

Since co-founding ANL Design in 2017 with Lawrence Liang; ANL Design has found relative success. In 2018, ANL exhibited ‘Closer’ as part of Vivid Sydney 2018. ANL Design was one of the youngest teams at the festival and the entire installation was fabricated and designed by the two friends; transforming over 1000 m of timber into a 9 by 7.5 m light maze. ANL Design was shortlisted for Guangzhou Light Festival, Parramatta Lanes as well as being selected for Bathurst Light Festival in 2018. Now as the construction lead of a larger team of designers and artists; ‘Capto Collaborative’, Anson and has been once again selected for Vivid Light Festival 2019 for the second year in a row with ‘Nostalgia Above’.
